With the upcoming LCI Father's Day Derby less than one week away, I'm sworn to secrecy...I won't divulge the anglers identity or the location where the fish was caught.
I will mention however, the fish was caught on a spoon from Dockside Outdoors. A Tamiron Honeybee, #2 black and white, also recently named the KopKar!.
This picture is my modified version of the lure, I added the dots.
The fish wasn't weighed on certified scales untill the day after it was caught! It weighed in at an impressive 9.45 pounds and measured out to an impressive 28.5 inches!
Congratulions to the angler!
Fish on, fish H8 me.

the lake record salmon is 13 lb 3 oz. Sept 28 1984. I watched them weigh it on a certified scale, and had a State of NY biologist for witness in Willsboro, NY. Angler was Kevin Norris, Essex VT. Witness, Gavin Wright. Norris has pictures, and the fish mounted, at home.
Thank you for the comment.
I'll check into that, but the record I can find is beauty that was taken by Brian Latulippe on October 18, 1994. The fish weighed 12 LBS 10.4 oz (12.65 lbs). If I find anything different, I'll be sure to post!
It is always cool to see pictures like this, great catches.
