MORE "DORKFISH"

Back in June I published a post about Sanman catching and boating a "Dorkfish".  Sanman gave the fish it's name, and did so appropriately.  Since then he has managed to catch another Lake Champlain Landlocked Atlantic Salmon "Dorkfish".

Wednesday, I was able to do the same.
This particular fish didn't have it's tongue sticking out the center of it's throat as Sanman's did, but rather off to the side.
Very Peculiar.

As was Sanman's fish, this fish didn't appear to have been affected by its abnormality.  It was a beautiful fish, healthy, hard fighting, 23 inches long with a big alewife in its belly.  It had been eating well.

After showing these pictures to another fisherman, Matt, he said he also caught one this summer, but failed to get any pictures.  He harvested his also.

I'll get a few pictures off to a Vermont Fish and Game biologist and see what they have to say.  My thoughts are that these fish are victims of previous catch and release, with injuries to show for it!
Fish on, fish H8 me.
